How ClassLane handles student data. Placeholder wording for the institute to finalise.
What we store
Your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, school, programme level, chosen subjects and (optionally) a parent contact. Inside the app we store your attendance, homework submissions, marks, doubts and class chat messages.
Why we store it
To run your classes: send class reminders, mark attendance, return graded work and let your teacher contact you or your parent if you go missing from class.
Who can see it
Your teachers see your work, attendance and marks for their own batches only. The institute office sees enrolment and fee status. Other students see your name in the class roster and chat - never your contact details or marks.
Students under 18
Most of our students are school-age. A parent or guardian contact can be linked to an account, and that guardian gets read-only access to schedule, attendance, homework status and results.
Recordings
Live classes may be recorded for students who miss them. Recordings are shared only inside the batch and are not published publicly.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and notification preferences any time, set quiet hours, or ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@classlane.app. Class-starting alerts stay on by default so nobody misses a live class.
